Newbald Parish Council is organising an event to officially open the Centenary Bench. It will be held on Remembrance Sunday – Sunday 9th November 2014 from 1.30pm-3.30pm. This will be an opportunity to pay respects to those people from Newbald that died in the wars of the last 100 years, but also to celebrate the way of life they sacrificed so much to protect. This way of life is perfectly encapsulated by our thriving one hundred year old school.
The Newbald Centenary Bench marks the centenary of these two momentous events in our village’s history – 100 years since the start of the First World War and 100 years since the school opened.
