Church Rooms

Church Rooms – Newbald Young People’s Project

TVotehis is an active, vibrant youth club for children from Newbald and surrounding villages, who are aged between 5-18 years, to benefit each week during term time from a series of inspirational, creative, physical and educational activities.

A few years back, the Church Rooms won £6,275, which was used to refurbish and make the Rooms smart and safe so they can continue to offer the children of the village wonderful and exciting opportunities over the next decade.

Further funding from The Two Ridings Foundation and Sober Hill Wind Farm Fund has enabled us to continue the following activities:

Tuesday Youth Clubs (Term time only)

Children in reception, years 1 & 2 – 4 to 5pm
Children in years 3, 4 and 5  – 5 to 6.30pm
Children in years 6+ – 6.30 to 8pm

Fridays (or possibly other nights) – Get creative in our kitchen donated by Howdens Joinery. Thanks to funding from National Lottery Awards for All and the Sober Hill Wind Farm Fund, we are able to run 5 week cookery courses. Join a course with a group of your friends. Open to all children aged 9 and over. (Subject to availability, please contact Sally to be put on the waiting list).

Candlelit Suppers will be held every 4-6 weeks by reservation only on a £10 per head basis (own drinks can be brought along) for a 3 course meal.

For more information or to sign up for these opportunities, please contact Sally Askem on 01430 828129 (sallyaskem@btinternet.com)

Note children do not have to be a member of the youth club nights to be able to join in any other activities.

Also, please get involved—The Church Rooms really need more people to help out in so many interesting and exciting ways.
