Sports Groups & Fitness Classes

Currently the following sports and fitness class activities take place in Newbald:

Metafit (30 minutes)
Evenings – Monday 7.30pm (term time only) – Village Hall
Mornings –  Wednesday 9.30am (term time only) – Village Hall
Metafit is a high intensity interval training (HIIT) class which combines traditional bodyweight exercises with the latest interval and Tabata techniques. HIIT workouts have been proved to get you in shape in the least amount of time and attended regularly Metafit will seriously change your body shape as you build muscle, boost your metabolism and ultimately burn fat!  Exercises can be adapted to suit all fitness levels, in fact I have several regulars with various limitations who, with the right adaptions, all manage to complete and enjoy Metafit. £3.50 per session, bring water and a towel. For more information contact Emma on emma@myfithit.com or 07852226761.

MetaPWR (30 minutes)
Mondays at 9.30am (term time only)
Wednesdays at 7.30pm (term time only)
Combining HIIT with weighted equipment such as battle ropes, sandbags, kettlebells and slam balls. MetaPWR is a fun, circuit style workout that can be adapted to suit all fitness levels. £4 per class, school term time only.

Freestyle Fitness Yoga (45 minutes)
Mondays at 10am (term time only) – Village Hall
FFY incorporates yoga poses, strength and stretch exercises to deliver a low impact, full body workout that can be enjoyed by everyone with good general health. £4 per session, school term time only. Bring an exercise mat and water. FABS (60 minutes)
Wednesday 10am – Village Hall
Specifically designed for over 60s this gentle workout uses a combination of seated and standing exercises that mimic the movement patterns we use day to day such as walking up stairs, getting up off the floor and carry heavy loads.  Regular participants have reported gains in muscle strength and coordination as well as reduced aches and pains especially related to frequently used joints such as knees and shoulders. This is a 60 minute class where the emphasis is on fun and social interaction as much as exercise and we always finish with a cuppa and a natter.  £5 per session, school term time only. Short Mat Bowling

Primary Ballet, Tap & Modern, 5-7 year olds – Village Hall – Saturdays from 9.45am-11am. £4
Junior Ballet, Tap & Modern, 8-10 year olds – Village Hall – Saturdays from 11am – 12pm. £5
