Sports Groups & Fitness Classes

Currently the following sports and fitness class activities take place in Newbald:

Metafit (30 minutes)
Evenings – Monday and Wednesday 7.30pm (term time only) – Village Hall
Mornings –  Monday and Wednesday 9.30am (term time only) – Village Hall
Metafit is a high intensity interval training (HIIT) class which combines traditional bodyweight exercises with the latest interval and Tabata techniques. HIIT workouts have been proved to get you in shape in the least amount of time and attended regularly Metafit will seriously change your body shape as you build muscle, boost your metabolism and ultimately burn fat!  Exercises can be adapted to suit all fitness levels, in fact I have several regulars with various limitations who, with the right adaptions, all manage to complete and enjoy Metafit. £3.50 per session, bring water and a towel. For more information contact Emma on or 07852226761.

Keep Fit (45 minutes)
Mondays at 10am (term time only) – Village Hall
A 45 minute low impact exercise class designed to improve joint mobility, muscle strength, core stability and flexibility.  Starting with a 10 minute dynamic warm up we then progress to a full body strength workout incorporating a combination of squats, lunges and upper body exercises. We follow, on the mats, with a 10 minute core blast and end with a well deserved stretch and relaxation.   £4 per session, school term time only. Bring an exercise mat and water. FABS (60 minutes)
Wednesday 10am – Village Hall
Specifically designed for over 60s this gentle workout uses a combination of seated and standing exercises that mimic the movement patterns we use day to day such as walking up stairs, getting up off the floor and carry heavy loads.  Regular participants have reported gains in muscle strength and coordination as well as reduced aches and pains especially related to frequently used joints such as knees and shoulders. This is a 60 minute class where the emphasis is on fun and social interaction as much as exercise and we always finish with a cuppa and a natter. For more information contact Emma on or 07852226761.

Thursdays – Church Rooms
Fun fitness for 4-12 year olds. Games and activities to improve strength, endurance, co-ordination, balance and to create a positive mental attitude. A fun, safe environment where young people come together to enjoy the positive benefits of physical activity.
4-5 year olds – 4pm
6 – 7  year olds – 5pm
8 – 12 year olds – 6pm

Short Mat Bowling
