Yorkshire Wolds Cycle Challenge 2019

Ryedale Special Families (Supporting families of children with disabilities and special needs) is holding its 9th cycling fundraising event on the weekend of Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th July. They will pass through Newbald on Saturday afternoon.

The event has become a hugely important part of the organisation’s fundraising activity, raising in excess of £38,000 last year, but they are keen to inform as many people as possible so as to cause minimum disruption.

This year they have 300 cyclists setting out from Norton College from 8.00am on the Saturday morning. They will set them off in groups of no more than 15 riders, at 3 minute intervals, in order to try and minimise any traffic disruption.

The route follows the waymarked Yorkshire Wolds Cycle Route. It’s not a race it’s a non-competitive leisure ride, covering 72 miles each day, with an overnight camp at Hutton Cranswick Sports Fields.
